About NAFSCOB
The National Federation of State Co-operative Banks Ltd. (NAFSCOB), was established on 19th May 1964 with a view to facilitate the operations of State and Central Co-operative Banks in general and Development of Co-operative Credit in particular.
The specific objectives of NAFSCOB are:
- To provide a common forum to the member banks to examine the problems of Co-operative credit, banking and allied matters and evolve suitable strategies to deal with them.
- Promote and protect the interests of the member banks in all spheres of their activities and to give expression to the views of the member banks.
- Co-ordinate and liaison with Government of India , Reserve Bank of India respective State Governments, NABARD and other higher financing institutions for the development of Co-operative credit on behalf of the member banks.
- Provide research and consultancy inputs to the member banks in order to facilitate them to strengthen their own organizations.
- Organise conferences/seminars/workshops/meeting to share the views of common interest with a view to contribute for better policy decisions.
The Federation functions with two of its wings, Viz.:
- Planning, Research and Development (PRD).
- Computer Services Division (CSD).

Shri Konduru Ravinder Rao
ChairmanSri Konduru Ravinder Rao is unanimously elected as Chairman of National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB) on 29-12-2020 in the Board of Directors Meeting in Mumbai. He is also holding the post of President of the Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd.(TSCAB) for one of the Prime Agrarian State in South India. He is also President of the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank. He was born on 11th July, 1953 in an Agricultural family of Karimnagar District in Telangana State. After graduating from Osmania University in Mass Communication & Journalism faculty, he worked for a couple of years in Mumbai, India for TATA SONS, switched back to his family profession of Agriculture & horticulture.
He was a leader from his student days and has entered into active politics about a decade and a half ago. He provided the required leadership, dynamism and business acumen in the working of the Short Term Cooperative Credit Structure. He was unanimously elected as Director, International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA), one of the sectoral organisation of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) on 12.10.2019 at Kigali, Rwanda.He is actively associated in Various Committees and Fora at country level and also is a member on the National Level Cooperative Federations and Unions. He widely travelled across many countries in the world, primarily with a view to study the Agricultural Practices, Techniques, Technology initiatives and Banking practices in other countries and put them into practice in the Cooperative Credit Institions.
Because of his vast experience, wide acceptance and leadership he provides to the Cooperatives, he has been always consulted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) and the Union and the State Government while formulating/modifying the policies related to Credit, Cooperative Banking and agriculture. He is very lucid and dynamic in presenting his thoughts, on what is good for the Cooperatives. He always thrives for the betterment of the Farming Community, Self Sustenance of the Agricultural Financing Institutions and selfreliance of the cooperatives at all levels.
Shri Bhima Subrahmanyam
Managing DirectorMr. Bhima Subrahmanyam is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Managing Director of NAFSCOB since 1990. Prior to joining NAFSCOB, Mr.Bhima was associated with viz., Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, Space Applications Centre of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) in India. He has about 45 years of experience in the areas of Rural communication, Rural Development, Agricultural Credit, Cooperation,cooperative Banking etc. He is author of more than 100 articles, Research Papers,Occasional papers etc. in the above areas which include Rural savings mobilisation. He attended about 120 training programmes/workshops conferences and seminars. He coordinated more than 100 national level seminars/workshops on rural cooperative credit and banking issues. He served as resource person to number of programmes and shared his experiences on most important issues involved in cooperative credit delivery system. He was in the past member of a number of Committees appointed by NABARD and Government of India. He was on the Governing council of Bankers Institute of Rural development (BIRD) and continues to be member of Advisory Council, College of Agricultural Banking ,Reserve Bank of India.
